Those glass insulators you were admiring run about 25 cents each at garage sales and flea markets around here. Even less at auctions, where we've seen whole boxes go for a buck or two. Just a question of supply and demand.

And supply runs a little high when you have, literally, tens of miles of abandoned lines still hanging out in the sun.
