blizzarding on schedule

So, the blizzard has struck.

Right on schedule.

Four to six inches so far, with another day and a half to go.

The helicopter is safely stored in a hangar (unfortunately 125 miles from where we need it), and the pilot has returned safely back home. All I have to do now is carefully watch the weather, and call them back down as soon as it clears.

And eldest son & friend have returned safely from University Town, despite the crappy roads. The only closed interstate they found was a half-mile out of town, so five minutes after they picked up the corgi, who was our delightful houseguest for a day and night, they were back.

Had to dig out an ancient GameBoy to amuse themselves whilst waiting for the accident to be cleared.

Wife is safely home, too. Wisely used the back highway rather than the closed interstate.

She also is watching the weather carefully, for her trip to Capitol City.

Rather than watching repeats of the Tonight Show, we amused ourselves on Google Earth. She has now remotely traversed every mile between here and her motel, and every block between her motel and the meeting building.

With several alternate routes.

'Course, all the images she saw are bright and green. What she will actually be driving in will all be white.

I also showed her exactly where the gas pumps are, and the best approaches.

Never considered important until you run low on gasoline in a town you don't know, and there's no one to call to get directions.

Also showed her exactly where the strip club is, and two alternate safe parking spots.

She says she's not interested.

Not even after I pointed out the whole city has gone non-smoking, which takes away the main drawback to the place (leaving only the bikers in the pool room and the drug deals in the dim northeast corner as remaining detractants).

She's still not interested.

Weird, huh?

I'm know I would go there if I was in town for the night...
