Since, as usual, I stayed late helping the wife and friends clean up the local historical site after their business afterhours and ribbon-cutting, I was granted a special treat.

A sneak peek at the Does!

They were all there, in a massive herd, staring intently at their buck escorts. (One of whom I hear is actually, kinda, well, stolen.)

Well, no they're not all there. Four were off getting their permanent protective coats spray painted on. My biggest regret of the day was not stopping to snap a picture of three of those four pronghorn's butts sticking out the garage door into the sunlight at the car body shop where they get coated.

But when you've been entrusted with the duty of fetching the snack buffets for the guests, and are running 10 minutes late because the grocery store manager wanted to talk about sage grouse, well, you don't stop for pictures.

Not when Tina is depending upon you.

But still, there were pronghorn of every color and texture crowded into that room.

There's a coin doe. A cheetah doe, a Nascar doe, and cartoon doe. A branding doe, and a paintbrush doe. A doe with fish, and a doe with flying critters.

Their colors ranged from harlequin bright

to patriotic

to almost natural.

The sculptor and artists made them so lifelike, I almost apologized to this gal for my flash.

My favorite, and the boss's, is the four seasons doe.

Perhaps the most striking is the Marilyn doe. Complete with blonde hair.

And high heels.

Front and back.

But they're all there, awaiting their unveiling later this month. A colorful carnival of pronghorn.

Just waiting to break free and scatter to the winds.
