It probably wasn't the best opportunity to experiment with the "Panorama" function of my image software.

But hey, I was standing there at the tailgate, cleaning elk blood and tissue bits off the scalpels and tongs, preparing them for use on the next elk that would be tested for chronic wasting disease, and I looked over at the rim. Twenty-five miles of desert away, on the other side of the interstate.

And thought, just a couple hours ago, I was in a tiny plane, flying the length of that rim, searching for elk that had moved onto their winter ranges early this year.

So, here it is.
