a promising sunrise The sun was just rising as I left home. Alone. The maskless heeler had been happy to stay home with the wife, just recently roused. But the masked sister was eager to go. And had the usual look of disbelief when I left her at the front door. But I would have another passenger today. The morning's orange glow raced me to the west, winning easily by hopping along low peaks of the overhanging clouds. And lit the hills of the divide with red as I pulled into town. A cool, welcome day. It could only get better. |
