I really should have been writing here, instead of surfing for the past few hours. But here it is, time for bed, and no time to do justice for the three or four entries I wanted to put down for today.

Instead, we'll do a photo.

Since some of you have been posting shots of the lovely spring flowers that are popping up in your part of the world, I figure I would do the same.

Noticed this interesting wildflower whilst opening a gate, in order to wander up to check a couple decaying elk carcasses. The first wildflowers of the season. High on a ridgeline in this particular part of the world.

Maybe not so bright and colourful as some others.

Have no idea what species of plant this is, and I'll be quite surprised if anyone out there can tell me. Pretty sure it's not forsythia. But the whole thing is less than a centimeter high, and the picture spans maybe four centimeters.

And this was one of the bigger ones.

They were everywhere by that gate. Person couldn't get around without stepping on flowers, which was a little disturbing, since I've been waiting so long for something colourful and spring-like to show up.
