capitol sheepwagon I caught just a glimpse of it through the trees, as we whizzed north through Capitol City, two-thirds of our way to Friday's wedding. A sheepherder's wagon. Here. In the city. Then I remembered where we were, and saw whose house the wagon was parked behind. The Governor's. Snapped a quick shot across the wife's lap as we sped home down the same interstate a day later.
And no, this isn't some touristy prop that they pull out on special occasions. It's fully functional. And no, it isn't some family heirloom of his. He made it. Mostly whilst serving as Governor. And it's not the first for this term. He gave another one away a year or so ago. Looks like he's well along on this one. That's the kind of place we live in. When the Governor has had enough of running the state and needs a break, he goes out in his garage, and builds sheepherder wagons. Cool. |
