summer home It's a pretty place, where our southern-most cow elk spent last summer, and returned to this spring. The main drainage is named after King Solomon. I suspect the treasure to be found there has nothing to do with human riches. I can see why she's here. I'm not quite sure why she migrates 50-60 miles north to spend the winter with us... The good news from today's trip to regional town? The monies for these elk flights technically expire after two more flights. No more fun trips into the mountains, over country I rarely see. But since the pilot and I have been so efficient and frugal, and interest in what these elk are doing is increasing, it looks like we will have money to keep flying to track these collared elk. For at least the next 11 months, or so. Oh, joy! |
