heeler update I don't know if it's just us, the way we treat our heelers, or if we're just blessed with a great veterinarian. But after a long day of preg-testing, the vet offered to see us and our injured little heeler after hours. He had to sedate her just to examine her knee joint. It's torn. Badly. She goes in for surgery Thursday morning, and we'll get her back on Friday. Interesting to read up on ruptures of the cranial cruciate ligament (the ACL in humans). After injuring one leg, it is common for dogs to injure the other leg the same way, 12-18 months later. And here we are, 13 months after she tore her right one. |
