good news, bad news A long, long day. Which probably wouldn't have been so bad if there weren't so many of them lately. And tomorrow will be even worse. Losing our ISP for a day and a half didn't help, that combined with D-Land's problems (still got over a month of photos to re-post). The good news is... found a new strutting ground. Five cocks out there trying to impress a hen this morning. She checked out two of them really carefully, but apparently neither one suited her fancy. When cocks six and seven came flying in, she was overwhelmed and flew out. The bad news is, looks like we've lost one lek for sure. No birds Sunday, and none today. Gotta think the drilling rig operating a half-mile or so to the west had something to do with it. In other news, got the latest relocations on our ten collared elk plotted today. Not much movement in the past two weeks. Looks like everybody caught up with the line of melting snow, and now they're just following it up the mountains. And now, to bed. |
