The best view we had of the lunar eclipse last night. Yep, cloudy and drizzling rain all night.

Craaap.

Just so I don't feel cheated whilst everyone else posts their wonderful eclipse photos and stories, here's one of my shots of the lunar eclipse we watched in May of last year.

A much more enjoyable experience, made all the better because we were in Jackson at the time. Or, more specifically, I was standing in Teton National Park when I took that shot, while the front edge of the camera lens was in the National Elk Refuge.

In other news... one of the folks recently mauled by a grizzly bear in our state had wisely attempted to deter the charging animal with his pepper spray. But, unfortunately, it turns out his can was old, past the expiration date, and did not fog properly.

Needless to say it did nothing other than to whet the bear's appetite.

You may eat things past their expiration date, at some slight risk, but with pepper spray you best make sure your can is fresh. In an email describing costs of purchasing said cans in bulk, one of the bear fellows made this additional remark.

"Refurbishing old cans has no benefit or cost reduction, just use them for practice or give them to an in-law."

So. Now we know how he feels about his wife's family.
