Teton sunrise, 17 May 2003 - part 2 As the Potato State photographer and I watched and clicked as the sunlight touched on the highest of the Tetons, not 15 meters apart, I happened to look in the side mirror. Glancing in that gap between him and his truck. And saw the same moon that the wife, eldest son and I had watched in full eclipse not 32 hours earlier, from just a few miles south of here. It was hanging low over the Hole, beside the dimly lit peaks of the southern portion of the range. Braving the cold, and feeling condescending looks at my back as I used the corner of the Explorer as a tripod to steady my handheld, compact camera, I snapped a few shots. And then had the satisfaction of watching this photographer with all the professional equipment spin around and try to capture this same image I had seen. And he had not. |
