a bag of snow The wife just left the office, after coming in to see what I wanted for dinner. And she brought in this. Yeah, a bag of snow. Snow from Yellowstone. Collected near here: on 26 May. Even got a photo of her scooping the white stuff up. It wasn't really for the snow. We failed to take a cooler along on that trip, and had prime rib fat scraps for the heelers that needed to be kept cold, as well as plans for buying a couple mochas at eldest son's newest favorite coffee shoppe and taking them on the six-hour drive home. Ergo the need for refrigeration. Anyway, having served its purpose, she still kept the snow. And it seems that with the groceries she just brought home, there is no longer room in the freezer for a bag of Yellowstone snow. So I guess it will finally melt. Normally would be tempted to eat some of it, or melt it down and drink it. But if you had seen the roadside snowbank this came from, you probably wouldn't eat or drink it either. 'Course, the snow was all deposited when the road was closed for the winter, and we did scrape off the top layer of highway grime, so anything in that snow that isn't H2O would at least be natural. And I suppose I could always boil it, and then drink it... |
