the other way It's a bit of a commute when sunrise is six minutes later where you arrive than it was where you left. Of course, since this is a strutting ground you haven't checked for a year or two, it might help to review the map. Got out of town plenty early for the 90-mile drive, but two wrong turns cost me all the effort. Didn't get to the lek until 27 minutes after sunup. Fortunately, the grouse were cooperative, and still there. Likewise for the next strutting ground, as well. Not sure what the sheepherder must have thought. Green truck comes from out of nowhere, before breakfast time, stirring up the sheep dogs. Then comes back again five minutes later, going the other way. |
