Bill Gates

It's a good thing Bill Gates didn't stop by this afternoon.

If he had, I'd have spent most of the rest of the day explaining to peace officers why I had to put a .308 through his head.

Of course, when I was done explaining, they would have all called it justifiable homicide, but I really didn't have the time or energy to go through all that again. Not after taking the time to explain to the wife why the heeler sisters were nervous about coming downstairs and into the office.

You see, they'd heard the screaming and cursing this afternoon. The little maskless heeler even charged to the front window, barking to ward off whatever evil I was apparently upset about.

And I don't want to go through the explanations here, either. It was nothing major, like the crashing systems or evaporating data that other people have had to go through. Just the sheer stupidity of the data import procedures for Access (or actually, the lack of procedures).

And to top it off, the moronic abuse of the English language that Bill's company uses to write their manuals. (And hey, this time the Que manual to explain the Microsoft manual was even worse than the original! Really!)

So, after hours of researching and testing and failing, and then repeating the researching, testing and failing, I finally found the simple magic steps that did what I needed.

And the process itself took only a few minutes.

But in the meantime, I was trying to estimate exactly how far Bill would be able to run in the time it would take me to retrieve the firearm, load it, chamber a round and pop off the safety.

I figure he would have still been well within my range.
