fair burgers

Went to the doc to get my "short blue hairs" removed. No worries.

Well, actually that isn't true. He did say "uh-oh" after pulling the last stitch, which caused me to make a quick check of the equipment. But it turned out he was saying "uh-oh" in response to my comment that the wife and eldest son were at that moment out and about in town trying to get son's vehicle fixed up suitable for college use.

We finally got the flat tire on his vehicle repaired, with little assistance from him. Hope he's paid attention, because someday he'll be on his own with one.

No pathology report yet.

After a brief youth group meeting this evening, wife and I stopped by the county fair to get burgers from the concessions stand for dinner. Took a brief tour of the fair displays which, other than 4-H, were pretty pathetic again. I had intended to write an entry this week explaining why the displays have declined so much in recent years, and why the dozens (yes, dozens) of fair ribbons hanging in our dining room have had no new additions for many years. But I'm not in the mood tonight.

The burgers were good, as usual.

Maskless heeler made a pig of herself (with permission) with the leftover fries.

And I forgot to mention some good news (for me) yesterday... my lady warden has decided to decline the promotion/transfer across state. She went and checked out the town, and quickly figured out that she and her husband could never afford payments on their existing house where he lives and another house for her in the new town. Housing market was just way too high. Think she has resigned herself to six more years of 127-mile commuting. Bad for them, but good for me.

Told her so.
