it's snowing It's snowing. Right now, at this second, it is snowing outside. Not enough to stick, and the ground is warm enough to melt it all right away, but it is snowing. Not really that unusual for here. In 1996 we had 6"-8" on 16 June. I've seen it snow in town on the Fourth of July. And in August, too. So every single month of the year it might snow here. That's what we get for living on the Divide. That's one of the reasons why so few people live here. That's a good thing. Wife and I were sitting on the porch yesterday afternoon, visiting. That's rare these days. I commented that if I stored the snow shovels back in the garage, we'd have room for a second chair and she wouldn't have to sit on the steps. She laughingly commented it would probably be safe now, since it is June. Wrong. She just got moved into an office with a window last Friday. Guess I should call to see if it's snowing there... . . Just called her... it had been snowing there, now turning to rain. She's hoping we don't get hit like Butte, where they apparently got enough of the white stuff to break branches and knock out powerlines. She didn't take a coat or sweater to work today. She's wearing short sleeves. I may have to find an excuse to go into town. I love this place! |
