So we're home.

And the laptop's hard drive is 2,702 images richer.

And that's without the wife's two memory cards full of, well, memories.

So, to hit the highlight of the past four days...

Arnica.

The Arnica fire, as we waited to join an escorted convoy driving east along the Loop Road, in that narrow little sliver of forest between the lake and the fire front:

The leading edge of the Arnica fire (yes, there's really a tiny flash of open flame visible there... the wife wouldn't stop for better shots) as we zipped between it and the lake again, headed west on Sunday morning. Unescorted. (We coulda stopped for a few seconds...) Taken two hours before the flames claimed both sides of the road, forcing its closure:
