The end of one month, the beginning of another. For our outfit, a time for accounting.

Last month I maxed out on hours. Worked the maximum they will allow us without drawing official reprimands. (And yes, it is nice working for an outfit where they have to keep people from working too hard, rather than having to encourage labor.)

One hundred and twenty-one of those hours were on this damn rim.

Including 46 hours on snowmachine, and 24 miles on a 4-wheeler.

And yes, that confirms it. I spent more time on a snowmachine this month than I have in my entire life before.

But what the official records don't show is the real accounting of the past month...

Number 48. Out of 88.

And I thank you for your kind words. But I feel obligated to point out I am hardly alone in my compassion for these poor critters.

I have the fortune of working with great people.

But we all have our jobs to do...
