reflective image Another image from a reflective morning back in September. To give you a sense of scale, that opposite shore is over a half-mile away. If there were time, and of course there isn't, since I have to get up in less than five hours, load the truck and then drive 300-some miles before noon, I would write an entry about today. About a relaxing, boring day in the desert, measuring annual growth on bushes that ranged from barely over a millimeter to over 60 millimeters. So, I have saved a spot for that, to be written some other time. For today, after less than five hours' sleep, it is travel once again to Feral Horse Town, up by Whinybutt's state. A morning spent returning furs and skulls, transferring an ATV and trailer (the reason I finally got my trailer hitch wiring replaced last week), picking up my newest neighbor biologist (never met her, but heard her on the radio a lot this fall), and then an afternoon of meeting. To be followed by a steak fry, and then tomorrow morning, the wing bee. 'Night. |
