Got home from antelope classifications this morning to find this message stuck on the TV in the bedroom.

"Your Dad called. Steve died - fell off his tractor."

And that was it.

Steve was my cousin on my mother's side, brother to Jeff, who we lost last winter.

Been a rough year for that aunt and uncle.

The grandfather we shared died the same way, almost a half century ago.

Would have hoped tractors would be safer by now.

Guess I should get off-line and make a call.
