a survey

I don't think I've finished one of these personality surveys yet, and this one may be no different.

Courtesy of Charmcity, via Mocksie.

1. What facial feature do you find the most attractive on others? Like Mocks, the smile is what gets my attention. Then the eyes.

2. Would you vote for a woman candidate for president? Certainly. Has Hillary started her campaign yet?

3. Would you marry for money? Apparently not.

4. Have you had braces? Nope.

5. Do you pluck your eyebrows? No, but I have in recent years gained a dozen or so long, wild red hairs in each brow. Make me look like a mentat. Or the red haired man who gave me my driver's test.

6. Do you ever cut or hurt yourself? All the time. But not on purpose.

7. When was the last time you had a hickey? Long, long time. Not so long since I had deep nail marks, though. If she kept them sharp, they'd draw blood (which I wouldn't mind, you know. Sort of scars of honor.)

8. Could you live without a computer? "Could?" Of course. Anybody "could." Wouldn't want to, though.

9. Do you use ICQ, AOL Buddy list etc..? Nope. Friend helped me get onto chat once, about seven years ago. Had absolutely nothing to say to those folks, and have never been on since. Email works just fine, don't need immediate gratification.

10. If so, how many people are on your list(s)? 0

11. If you could live in any past time period, which would it be? Have actually pondered that some. Have thought about Dark Ages in England or Scotland (sort of a scientific Merlin role), Renaissance in Italy, or pre-Columbian in western NorthAm. But, in reality, the superstitions, prejudices and lack of science and medicine would be unbearable. Truly believe we are in the best time of human history right now, and would love to see all of the next century.

12. Do you drink enough water? No.

13. Do you wear shoes in the house or take them off? Shoes? Have one pair of "shoes". Wear them for volleyball and summer camp. Otherwise it is boots. Normally have them on, but they're off right now.

14. What is your favorite fruit? Raspberries.

15. Do you eat wheat bread or white? Wheat (a taste learned from the wife).

16. What is your favorite place to visit? Yellowstone.

17. What is the last movie you saw? In the theaters? The Count of Monte Cristo. Before that was Blade 2.

18. Do you kiss on the first date? Heh. Guess we did.

19. Are you photogenic? Nope.

20. Do you dream in color or black and white? Don't know. Really.

21. Are you wearing fingernail polish? No.

23. Do you have any dimples? Had to go look. Yes, but they're under the moustache.

24. Do you remember being born? No.

25. Why do you take surveys? Saves having to think of an entry.

26. Do you drink alcohol? Rarely. Hardly ever drank, but gave up alcohol when the wife became pregnant, as support, and just never really started again. And now, I'm usually the designated driver if there is ever wine with dinner.

27. Did you like or do you like high school? Some parts.

28. What is the most beautiful language? Finnish. Used to think it was French, until I heard the Finnish delegates at an international grouse symposium. Made French sound coarse and Gaulic. Was not surprised to find Tolkien based his Elvish on Finnish.

29. When you are asleep do you like being kissed awake? Since it is almost always a cold heeler tongue or nose, no.

30. Do you like sunrises or sunsets the most? Sunrises. Have yet to see the Green Flash, though.

31. Do you want to live to be 100? Would prefer for 100 to be middle-aged. Not in my lifetime, but in this generation or the next it will happen.

32. Do you think women should be expected to shave their body hair? "Expected" to? No. But prefer them that way, at least on the legs. Underarms don't matter much. As for the rest, trimmed pubic hair is soft, aromatic and preferred. But racing stripes look silly.

33. Do you like salty food or sugary food the most? Depends on the craving of the moment. Which I usually yield to. Since "sugary" includes chocolate, I guess that wins.

34. Is a flat stomach important to you? Yes. Almost had it back last year, and lost it again. Still looking.

35. Do you or have you played with a ouija board? Yes, with my sister's in junior high. The initials it gave for my future wife did not match either my best friend or the girl I had a crush on, and that was that. My wife has those three initials. I file this under "unexplained phenomena," those events I have experienced that neither science, logic or statistical averages can explain. Along with the geyser that rarely erupts that erupted for just the two of us on our Honeymoon. (But that is not our geyser. Our geyser is the little shit in the Upper Basin who always erupts just before, or just after we have walked by. Or taunts us by erupting while we're waiting in line at the Hamilton Store restrooms.)

36. Are you loyal? Yes.

37. Are you tolerant of other people's beliefs? Yes, so long as they don't try to impose them. It is more interesting to see what people's beliefs do for them, rather than what the beliefs actually are.

38. When you watch movies at home, do you like the lights on or off? One backlight.

39. Do you believe in magic? No. Except for those things in my "unexplained phenomena file."

40. Do you have nightmares frequently? No. Rarely.

41. Do you like your nose? It'll do. If I was designing it, I would reduce the bulbousness on the end.

42. Do you like abstract art? Is Picasso abstract art? Then, no. Actually, some is quite moving and subtle. Most is crap. Abstract art by chimpanzees and elephants is interesting.

43. Do you think you can draw well? I did great dinosaurs when I was a kid. But nowadays, no.

44. Do you listen to music daily? Yes.

45. Do you like to watch cartoons? Off and on. Enjoy anime, hentai, and old Warner Bros.

46. At what age did you find out that Santa Claus wasn't real? Don't know. The year we stamped out sled tracks in the neighbor's yard for the kids who lived there to see.

47. How many pairs of shoes do have in your closet? None. The sole pair is under the corner desk. Got a pair of winter boots in the closet (unused this past winter). Scattered around are the daily and dress pairs of western boots, and three pairs of lace-up hiking boots.

48. Do you like to wear the same shoes everyday or do you like a variety?Usually the same pair of western boots. Until they are too worn, and then it's time for another pair.

49. Do you write poetry? Not since a teenager.

50. Do you snore? Yes. Usually end up getting a single motel room at out-of-town meetings because of it. Have one warden who knows how to get me to roll over with a pillow thrown across the room.

51. Do you sleep more on your back, front, or sides? Out of courtesy to the wife, do not sleep on my back because of the snoring. Reflux prevents falling asleep on my right side or stomach. So it is always the left. Like sleeping on the right and can, later in the night, but will get the masked heeler's feet in the face if I do. Which I don't mind, but she doesn't like morning breath and will push me away.

52. Would you rather have a poodle or a rottweiler? If those are the only choices, I'd have to take the poodle. We could feed it to the heelers. Had a neighboring compadre that had a poodle in his rig in the field. Looked stupid. But rotts look like something that somebody didn't finish.

53. Do you lick stamps? Yeah, once and a while I forget and still lick 'em. Taste bad.

54. Do you use an electric can opener? No.

55. Have you ridden in a hot air balloon? No.

56. Which hurts the most, physical or emotional pain? Emotional.

57. Do you think balding men should shave their heads? Define "balding." How far along is he?

58. Do you know anyone who is clinically depressed? No.

59. Do you prefer a piano or a violin? To play? I can finger type a little on a piano, and make only unpleasant noises on a violin. But in the right hands, either can be wonderful. It's the soul and mastery of the player, not the instrument, that matters.

60. Are you a sex addict? Yes. (Think that goes along with being a chocoholic... would love to understand the biochemistry between those two.)

61. Do you know someone who has cancer? Yes.

63. Do you hunt? Yes, although I just realized it has been five falls since I recreationally killed anything.

64. Do you like fast food joints, or expensive restaurants? Yes.

65. Would you rather visit a zoo or an art museum? Well, which zoo or which museum? Makes a difference.

66. Do you have a middle name? Yes.

67. Are you basically a happy person? No. Try "content".

68. Are you tired? Four mornings off out of the past 36? Yeah, I'm tired. And forgetting things in the morning (like alarms).

69. Did you drink anything with caffeine in it today? Yes, field mocha.

70. Have you ever met anyone off the internet? No.

71. How many phones do you have in your house? Seven, I think. But only four are connected.

72. How long is your hair? Short. Brushes the tops of the ears and the collar.

73. Do you get along with your parents? Yes.

74. What color of eyes do you prefer? Not blue.

75. Are you an active person? No.

76. What medications do you take? None. (Is Maalox a medication?)

77. What does your bedroom look like? A mess. Once thought we were going to end up one of those old couples living in narrow pathways between piles and piles of clutter. Now realize that will happen long before we become old.
