Today was a snow day for the local schools, to make up for closures during the winter. Kind of a waste, since they are spending the entire morning in just one class, and then the afternoon with required attendance at a school play.

Younger son went, but elder son played hookie with permission (he went on "Senior Skip Day", so today he made up for it). Wife's godson is here, skipping too, with his Mom's permission. Making up for his younger brother getting to skip a day to go fishing with his Dad.

We never got to skip school. Wouldn't have even dared to ask.

Since we were free and had to run into town anyway, wife and I went in for breakfast and some shopping. Nice to have a chance to visit. Masked heeler couldn't understand why we were headed to school today. Heelers can apparently count days. And this is supposed to be the stay-at-home-and-sleep-in day.
