smart heelers It rained and snowed all night, making the country wet and muddy. So no lek surveys this am. Nice, but I wish there was a way of having the alarm clock automatically check the weather for me so I don't have to get up at 5am to look out the window. Still, despite the interruption, it was good to sleep in. Wanted to lay in bed and read the paper, but wife made threats of bodily harm if I turned a light on. Maskless little heeler was thrilled that we didn't go out. She snuggled in close to the wife's legs and went into dreamland. Very obviously running, either racing with her sister or chasing a rabbie. "Rabbie." You have to be careful with the words you use around heelers. If they associate the word "rabbit" with something you can chase, they will fly across the cab of the vehicle to get to a window every time you use the word "rabbit." So to avoid serious injury or loss of control of the vehicle, you create other words for critters of interest to the heelers, words that will not come up in casual conversation. Like "rabbie." Or you spell them, like "C..O..W", or "p..r..o..n..g..h..o..r..n". Unfortunately, heelers are smart and can learn how to spell. They know "C..O..W". And "o..u..t..s..i..d..e", and a few other words we have spelled too often. They have also learned the phrase "exit the domicile." Anyway, this wasn't the entry I was going to make, so I will end it and start the real entry for today. |
