I have spent much of the past week looking at numbers. And compiling them, averaging them, rearranging them and debating with others what they all mean.

All in order to decide what type of hunting seasons we should have this fall.

And yeah, if you're someone who pays attention to what I say here, you may have noticed this is all happening about a month earlier than normal this year. All because a few bosses decided they need about a month's more time to look over what we have to say about those numbers.

Thereby depriving us of about a month's worth of time to look at those numbers and figure out what they all mean. A third of them we just got on Monday.

My deadline is tomorrow. Deer and elk herds are done, got four pronghorn herds yet to write up.

Hence, me still working this time of night, and anticipating zero hours of sleep before hitting the highway for a two-hour drive less than four hours from now.

Somehow, it seems like I just pulled an all-nighter not too long ago.
