a day's wish It's called "Lewis's phlox." It has bright blue flowers and sometimes blooms all the way from June into September. It prefers to grow in disturbed areas. Filling in gaps of open earth with spindly green stems and these bright blue blossoms. Because it grows so well in torn-up dirt, it is often added to commercial seed mixes for reclamation. Yielding large swaths of healing blue instead of scarred brown wherever the landscape has been changed, or cut. If I could grant one wish today, it would be that the coming year bring you many large splashes of blue. |
