flying over the honeycombs We flew over hundreds and hundreds of miles of country this morning. Two good flights, cut short only by a faulty battery. From open salt flats to desert shrub to mountain foothills still topped with snow. Over active sand dunes and blue ribbon trout river. 'Course, you know where my favorite spot was... The Honeycombs are so huge, even with our transects four minutes apart, we passed over those gorgeous grey, green and red buttes three times. On our last pass, I looked down to realize... I ate lunch on top of that butte. Probably over twenty years ago. But that's the spot. |
