We flew for the radio-collared elk again Thursday morning. My record is still intact. ( That is assuming you don't count it as throwing up if your mouth fills with bile, but you swallow it back down rather than spitting it out. Twice.)

After four days of tremendous winds, rain and snow, I was certain the trees would be stripped bare of their fall colours.

I was half right.
