cloud images So. We got rain today. Not just the early thunderstorms, either. Those were followed by the overcast, damp skies the wife and I like so much in September. Mainly because we've usually been in Yellowstone when we see that. But today, the clouds came down and settled into our low country. And I added a few minutes to my wing barrel-setting route to take a few shots: Once again you could see the cold front pushed up against the other side of the mountains. A thick blanket of mist would boil over, almost hiding the peaks from view. Only to quickly melt away, failing in its bid to cover the desert basin below. Since there was no longer any urgency on the drive home, I stopped along the way to harvest some seed pods from the pentemons growing along the highway north of town. And was surprised to find one late, diligent blossom. The clouds had risen a little by the end of the meeting, which made for an impressive sunset. |
