moonrise

Before she completed her mission of rescuing the bored heelers, the wife asked when I would be home for dinner.

Depends.

On what the sunset looks like. If it's a good one, I'll stay out here to watch. Silently cursing all the hunters that come in to prevent me from taking pictures.

And the sunset looked promising.

But as the dusk advanced, the sunset got less and less impressive. Too many clouds, too low, to get any colours at all.

So disappointing I was completely unperturbed by the usual batch of hunters arriving right before dark. Complete with a handful of harvested antelope.

Until, as one truck pulled out, my eyes followed their vehicle to the east.

And saw the rising moon.

Maybe not a geat moonrise, but a good one. Interrupted by only one hunter, and a traveling motorcyclist looking for a place to camp (both of which were also admiring the moonrise).
