The first hunters came through my check station a little before nine o'clock this morning. And it was busy ever after, even when my two cutthroats (that's an inside joke, folks) arrived shortly after, to do most of the lymph node sampling.

The next time I got to sit down and relax in my rig was ten minutes to six.

That's PM, folks. Had over 100 deer and antelope come through, with as many as seven vehicles backed up at one time. The half a powdered sugar donut I had left on the dash so many hours earlier was still there (says something about the obedient nature of the masked heeler), although quite stale.

I ate it anyway.

And the neighborhood pronghorn buck came through again, hopping the cattleguard onto the highway, walking past the annoying mass of humans and vehicles, and then across the second cattleguard to go mark the other end of his territory.

Too busy with three or four truckloads of hunters and deer to grab a camera for pics of him, so here's one from a couple weeks ago.
