I've been sitting on hunter check stations for 28 falls now.

But I've never before sat here.

And it was busy. Almost fifty antelope checked, and more than a few violations. Too many notes from the day to type tonight.

And no heelers.

At 89 miles, it was a long drive to get to work. And a long day. But in 28 hunting seasons I've never before sat on check station and watched sailboats playing on the water.

And I can't complain about the view.
