out of tune heelers Youngest son is expanding his musical talents to a new instrument, the guitar. Along with the usual paraphernalia, he also acquired an electonic digital device for determining musical key, and whether or not a particular sound is off-key. According to him, the heeler sisters bark in 'C'. We recently added new identity tags to their collars (printed on an automated vending machine at the Wal-Mart in Capitol City, which was fun, easy, and did a great job with deep engraving, by the way). And naturally, both were upset when we stripped them naked to clip on the new tags. And upset again when they each discovered their personal "jingle" had changed. So, we checked them out with the new device. The little maskless heeler jingles in the key of 'E'. With perfect pitch. The masked heeler has identical tags on her collar, but the arrangement must be a little different. She also jingles in 'E', but she's a little flat. Which, I assume, is how we can tell who's walking around in the dark at night, just by their jingle. |
