I can feel the hairs turning grey.

Youngest son just left. For a quick trip to McD's, a treat for the masked heeler.

Driving.

Alone.

Yep, he got his driver's license this afternoon. A quick stop by the wife's office to brag (and raid her empty wallet), and then he drops me off at home.

And picks up his heeler.

She looked a little surprised as they backed down the driveway. Sort of a "Aren't you coming?" look. But as they headed down the street, she was facing forward and alert, eager to be going somewhere.

That there is another independent driver in the pack doesn't seem to register with her.

It registers with me.
