heeler normalcy

We've been letting the masked heeler bail off the front porch when they are let outside for several weeks now. Flying from the porch down to the sidewalk, snow or grass below. Most times she crashed and burned on the bottom, and then went down more cautiously for several days afterwards.

Yesterday she did the old flying leap, and landed running. And again today.

Really nice to see.

When we got back from our walk to the post office, we played "tug" with the leash all the way into the house, and for several minutes afterwards.

First time in three months.

And while we were enjoying the Sunday comics (yes, one paper delivers them a day early) in bed this morning, she asked for permission to climb back up into her "loft" (the huge pile of unfolded laundry on the chair next to the bed).

And got it.

She pawed things around until they were just right, and then flopped down in her private spot.

Who would have thought normalcy could feel so good?
