steel wool Thirty-three dollars for steel wool!? For sixteen pads of steel wool? Sure, it's imported from Mexico (Hi Silver!), but does that mean we have to pay luxury prices? No. But I do wonder of any recycled steel from the WTC is in it. Probably not. Bet this has been packaged for years. But it is a nice thought. The burners on our range occassionally get corroded and fail to heat at low temps. Usually from spills and frequent use. Since the right rear is always on low to keep water hot in the teapot, which occassionally boils over, it corrodes often. Have replaced the connecting wires and plugs once, but usually a cleaning with steel wool will extend their use. Been acting up for four or five days, and we were out of steel wool. And I added it to the grocery list, which the wife filled after mass today. But she complained that the steel wool cost us $33. The bag of steel was only $2.99 itself, but she passed a sale of sweatpants, and needed to replace hers. And then saw a nice maroon sweater, with the perfect matching skirt. Hence $33 for my steel wool. |
