snow

The plan was to head out and check strutting grounds tomorrow morning.

As of eight-thirty, when I let the heelers out after their dinner, that was still the plan.

As of nine-thirty, when the wife got home from her movie date, the interstate was closed. Not at some distant point, but right at the edge of town.

Snow.

I guess if this blizzard had come two days later, I could call it a spring storm. But as it is, it's just a blizzard. And most likely, tomorrow I won't be going anywhere.

If you're curious, as of today, 24 of the 24 collared bighorns were still up and about. As well as three uncollared sheep that are hanging with some of those with collars. And yes, all the wanderers have apparently ceased wandering, at least for the moment.

I suspect 20cm of new snow may change that, at least for the three way out in the desert.
