the pack is smaller She wasn't that happy to leave. Sure, she was thrilled when her people finally arrived. The first night without them had been visibly depressing. But they have extra food at the heelers' house. Stuff she never gets at home. And there's heelers at the heelers' house. Somebody to run with, bark with, patrol the perimeter with. Somebody to snuggle your butt up to. Yes, there were fights. No blood drawn, but serious altercations. All because the corgi would finally snap when the masked heeler would just stare at her, and ignore her threatening lip curl responses. How do you explain "blindness" to a dog that has never been blind? "Honest, she's not intimidating you. She just doesn't see you." 'How can she not see me? I'm right here!' But yeah, the blind masked heeler won them all, pinning the hapless corgi down to the floor every time. 'I can't see you, but I can still kill you if I want to.' And yet, late that night after the corgi had finally headed home with her newly married people, the masked heeler turned at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for her diminutive, but noisy, backup. Who did not come. And the next morning, when normally a corgi would playfully bump her side before running off to do her business, the masked heeler braced herself. And no bump came.
