an unempty house Yesterday wasn't as empty as it could have been, even with the wife and youngest son taking off by 6AM. Our future daughter-in-law stopped by for a brief visit, and to pick up her fiance's all important birth certificate. Have I mentioned how really, really happy we are that she's joining our family? Wedding plans are pretty much wrapped up. One more fitting in her wedding dress, which she just loves. Making the cake. Making the tiny ring pillow to strap onto the ring bearer's neck. What? Your ring bearer didn't carry the rings on their neck? Well, maybe your ring bearer wasn't a corgi... Of course, there's still the rehearsal dinner to plan, but that's our problem, not hers. But before we can make dinner reservations, we need to know what town it'll be in. And that depends on which town most guests are staying in. And we're still waiting on some RSVPs for that. And then, around two-thirty this morning the heelers started making a racket. Which usually isn't a good thing at two-thirty in the morning. But when I checked the front door, I was greeted by a charging... Corgi. Followed by eldest son. Of course. His bride is here, visiting her mom. Certainly shouldn't have expected him to stay 90-some miles away if he didn't have to work any more this weekend. She came over and woke him up at ten this morning. "You said you wanted to go garage-saleing with me..." |
