spring weather

They warned us of the blizzard hitting on Monday. So I slept in.

But Monday wasn't so bad. A light rain that turned into an inch or two of white. Yes, it closed every highway to the east and north, but I could have checked a lek or two, no problem.

They warned us about Tuesday. So I slept in.

And the sun actually shone. Yes, it was cold.

But I could have checked a lek or two.

They warned us about Wednesday. And I slept in.

You guessed it. The roads were slick and icy, but open. I could have checked a lek or two.

Last night they used their in credibly annoying emergency warning system to interrupt Lost.

Just to tell us the winter storm warning effective to 9PM on Thursday had been canceled.

Yeah. They interrupted Lost simply to tell us they were cancelling a warning I hadn't even heard about in the first place. Good thing the wife was on another one of her Wednesday night dates, else she would have learned some new curse words.

So. I'm thinking, maybe Thursday I'll finally get back into the field.

At two-thirty in the AM, the masked heeler lets me know she needs to exit the domicile. And I open the door to a blizzard, with snow blowing so hard I can barely see the truck on the street, there is a drift already on the porch, and I have to keep yelling at the poor blind heeler when she is done because she can't tell the difference between lawn and sidewalk.

They shoulda kept their winter storm warning. The wife was sent home early from work because of the blizzard. And this is what our quiet streets look like a block from our house.

Yeah, the interstate is closed. But at least the one truck looks like it's prepared for this weather.

And in other Springtime news... one of the wife's succulents is blooming.

Weird, huh?
