Yes, it is strutting season. Or has been, for about two weeks now. But today was the first time the heeler sisters and I managed to get out.
Grouse on one lek out of five. Not sure if the low attendance was because we're early in the season, or because these leks were all in the gas field, or if it was just because we're coming off a full moon.
Either way, the grouse are strutting.
Today also marks the end of the eighth year of this one-year journaling project.
Not sure what that means, other than the posting of over 3,500 entries and 900 GrousePics. And who knows how many thousand other images.
Seems like it ought at least be mentioned.
Hope you all had a happy Thirteenth. It's eight months before we get to celebrate it again. (We had dinner out, Inkheart, and coffee and pie afterwards.)
Time to sleep now...
