So. We have our proposals.

For our fall hunting seasons. Probably the simplest pronghorn seasons in many years.

Tends to happen when you don't have as many pronghorn, thanks to last winter.

And probably the most complicated, messiest elk seasons I've ever written up. But the bosses think they make sense.

Speaking of writing things:

The herd summaries and season proposal justifications we have to write every year to support and defend our proposals? The ones that used to be rushed to be done in three weeks, but were since allotted only a week and a half in the era of computers?

Now have to be done by Thursday.

This Thursday.

Yeah. Three days.

Everybody else apparently knew this, and has already been preparing their reports, on the assumption not much would change in today's meeting.

But me?

Well, remember the day I had to be in three places at one time?

Apparently they announced the greatly abbreviated deadline at the meeting I had to leave, for a conference call with the Governor's people.

And the boss thought to let me know... today.

So why am I online this time of night?

And in lighter news...

Did I mention, at the Christmas party, when discussing offspring with texting addictions, the boss's boss's wife mentioned her cell phone service didn't even have texting.

Since her phone service is the same as ours, we told her she was wrong, and the wife proved it by texting to the boss's wife's phone there at the table. For her first ever text message.

Today we learned that is still her only text message.

And she still hasn't opened it, because she's sure it'll cost her at least 5 cents if she does...
