mapping for fun While most of the week was spent with either sage grouse lek data and reports, or harvest reports and hunting season proposals for this fall, I still managed to play a little with the new GIS software. Plotting an extension of the species range for the Woodhouse's toad, using my observations over the past three decades. Checking all winter elk, deer and pronghorn observations in areas projected to see massive wind farms. And long-billed curlews, in the same areas. And, in what should come as no surprise to my sister: A map of all the places I've seen horny toads over the past 30 years. |
