Yeah. We were still a long ways from anywhere.

More good news... today's crew convinced another 175 elk that they did not want to live on rims covered with poisonous lichen.

And good news/bad news:

It was positively hot today. Well into the 40s (Fahrenheit). Good, because the sooner Spring arrives, the sooner the elk will move back south and no longer be a worry.

Bad, because it exposes a lot of lichen that's been under snow. And soaks it, making it greener and more palatable. And bad also because melted snow makes mud, which is awfully hard to get around in with either a snowsled, truck or ATV.
