Happy Friday the 13th!
If all goes as planned, the wife will receive her half-dozen roses today. (Only a half-dozen because of the other holiday on Saturday, which makes a dozen roses forty dollars more expensive than they were a couple weeks ago. And folks claim there's a recession goin' on...) When ordering the dark, dark red roses, the gal at the flower shop was quite happy that I did not want the card to say "Happy Valentine's Day".
"Happy Friday the 13th? Oh, I like that!"
And if all goes well, we will be having pierogi for dinner.
Russian pierogi. There's a tale behind that, but unfortunately it is one of those that was never written 'long about New Year's.
Now, if only the tardy package from Italy would arrive, I'd also be set for Saturday.
Wups. Still need a card.
