ground hog day

I've commented before how folks in our community apparently consider walking an unnatural act. The many times I have needed to cross town by foot, and been waylaid by someone, even a stranger, who will offer me a ride.

Except today. When I needed to trek from the dentist's office to the wife's office, in order to steal her car to get home.

In 29 degree weather. Wind chill somewhere in the teens. In my face, all the way.

I figured it was probably a little over one and a quarter miles.

Nope, just checked on the digital maps.

Two point one miles.

Now if only I could do that every day...

A shot of sunset, when I returned for the wife.

The town's Christmas star a mere silhouette, now.
