coping with winter weather

A shot of bitter cold winds whipping off the top of one of the Fourteeners.

This came to mind from a brief conversation during a break between two of the three meetings I attended today (all one right after the other, with a core group of us in all three, and other folks coming and going as their particular meeting topic came up).

We were discussing the vagarities of our winters, and the progress of this one so far (mild, if you're wondering), when the lone company rep commented on the "bitter cold" in the "Midwest" USA.

To which I scoffed.

Did you read what their "bitter cold" was?

-19 degrees F, with wind chills down to -30.

That's called "winter", folks.

Deal with it.

And yeah, we're in the forties again (that's " + " 40 degrees.

We're dealing with it.
