skirting the rain

I awoke before sunrise to find a world draped in grey clouds, gently misting down on the earth.

Craaap.

I've got two pronghorn routes to run before the hunting season for that area opens on Saturday. And the forecast calls for clouds and rain this evening and all day Thursday.

Craaap.

We get ready to out, despite the drizzle.

The heeler sisters strongly dislike being force fed their pills.

Especially by me.

Especially before six-thirty in the morning.

But the sun burns holes through the clouds, and we take off early, blue skies following us north. And except for a light rainstorm around ten, we have suitable daylight.

The rain shower ended just in time for us to enjoy the view from the Continental Divide.

Before heading back to work.

The serious rain hit just as I closed the last gate behind us.

One route down. One to go.
