Plan A did not work. There were still nine pronghorn in the pit this morning.

Only eight were alive.

So most of the day was spent implementing Plan B.

By evening it was clear Plan B probably isn't going to work, either. And that by morning, there may only be seven pronghorn to rescue.

Plan C will probably be implemented tomorrow.

Plan C will almost certainly work.

Probably not all of the pronghorn will survive Plan C. That's why it is the last to be tried.

The irony of all of this? The tragedy?

The water these animals were so desperate to reach...

is now easily available in dozens of places, thanks to a couple afternoon thunderstorms.
