So we were on the crest of a hill, almost due south of the fireworks. Parked behind his friend's shop. A lot farther away from the launch site than we have ever been. And behind some powerlines and trees.

Nice, sort of, but no bone-jarring booms. No aroma of brimstone to fill your nostrils.

Got glared at by two heelers the entire time, which was kinda cool. Reba and Abigail. Reba is a red heeler, and her owners listened to country music. So make a wild guess where she got her name...
